Contra dance is a friendly, inclusive dance form. A Contra Ball does not require that you bring a partner or know how to dance. As you can see from the "formal" contra dance photos on this page, you don't even need a fancy dress or tux. On the other hand, a ball is a fine excuse to dress up if that's your style. If you're wondering what a contra dance is like, here is a video of a large contra dance held up in Maryland.
There will be free lessons and a live band.
Waltzing and Swing dance music will also be offered during the course of the evening. Refreshments will be provided.
